Which tools do you need in today’s classrooms to teach children the skills they will need tomorrow? This summer, T-Systems Hungary launched a nationwide “Modern School Program” using Legamaster solutions to answer that question and help schools with the digital transformation. This enables teachers to focus on the individual student development and optimally prepare the students for the challenges of the digital age.
In September 2019, T-Systems Hungary installed the first digital classroom at the St. Nicholas Greek Catholic School in Edelény. The classroom is equipped with an ETX e-screen from Legamaster in combination with the Display Note software and Samsung tablets. On the ETX e-screen with touch functionality, the teacher can write, draw and display the teaching materials to the entire class. If needed, the teachers and students can also easily share their tablet screens using the Legamaster AirServer Connect.

“Classic teaching tools like drawing and writing on a blackboard improve motor skills and eye-hand coordination, but it is no longer possible to engage children. We must constantly find new ways to reach them," says József Barta, Head of the Edelényi school. He believes that with the advent of the digital world, knowledge in mathematics, science, technology and information technology is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, he is continuously searching for new teaching tools that can strengthen the students’ knowledge base.

At the St. Nicholas Greek Catholic School, the digital classroom is very popular with teachers, because they have already experienced how much the new tools help them to do their job more efficiently and effectively. "In addition to mastering algorithmic thinking and applied mathematics, following classes in the digital classroom improves the children's cooperative skills while fostering horizontal learning, and it gives students a taste of project-based work," says József Barta.
