How to stay “in touch” with your customers and co-workers

After more than a year of working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pretty much used to having a number of video conferences every day. Instead of seeing each other face-to-face, we have all become pro’s in talking to our laptop screens, muting our microphones and sharing our slides with a click. However, a big challenge is that lively interaction and real engagement is very often lacking during these virtual meetings. Are you looking for new ways to stay in touch with your customers and co-workers and energize your virtual meetings? Here is a short guide on how you can accomplish that.

Simply build your own studio

As everyone is working from home and will most likely continue to do so after the pandemic (at least part-time), it makes sense to reconsider the use of the available office space based on the needs of different teams within your organization. Especially the Sales, Product Management and Marketing teams typically have a common challenge, because they need to find new ways to stay in touch with the outside world.

Here, an in-house studio can be a great solution, which can be set up very easily in your existing office space. There is no need to spend money on large-scale refurbishing to create one.

Do you have an existing (meeting) room that you barely use? Transform this space into a studio! All you need is a touchscreen, two studio lights, a backdrop, a webcam or camera (connected to a PC) and a microphone. In an ideal setting, you also add a second screen to see your audience, which can of course also be a non-touch display.

    Goodbye boring slide show,
    hello interactive live show

Wait, a touchscreen? Yes, a touchscreen! Especially during online presentations, it is important that you hold the attention of the other participants. With a touchscreen, you can give your presentations a boost and add a little magic to the new online reality we now find ourselves in. You can also connect with people in a more authentic way, because they actually see you standing, moving, smiling and interacting with the screen.

"Standing in front of one of our touchscreens while presenting allows me to interact better with our partners."

Our colleague Marije van der Vliet from our International Sales Team shares her experience: "COVID-19 forced me to stop traveling and visiting our partners, which I miss a lot. As an alternative, I started to use our in-house studio. Standing in front of one of our touchscreens while presenting allows me to interact better with our partners.

Especially while having a second screen in front of me where I can see my audience. This enables me to read them like in a face-to-face conversation and add more non-verbal communication as I'm more active while standing.”

As a presenter, you can seamlessly switch between different types of content (e.g. slides, pictures, video’s or websites) and you can also write, draw, zoom in and take notes on the touchscreen while interacting with your audience.

    ...and ACTION!

Once you have created your in-house studio, why not open it up for a range of teams so they can also host next-level virtual meetings or livestreamed events? Here are a few examples how the studio can be used by different teams for different purposes:

    • Sales & Board presentations
    • Product trainings
    • Social media content
    • Webinars or video podcasts
    • Fun social activities
